21 Days to Reset Your BodyThrough Tea, Microbiome Balance, and Daily Ritual

Tao’an Tea Therapy Reset Cycle

In the Tao’an tea therapy system, 21 days is considered an important foundational cycle for resetting the body’s rhythm.

Modern research has shown that the human gut microbiome is highly dynamic. Its composition changes continuously in response to diet, environment, and lifestyle. Studies suggest that when dietary patterns shift consistently, noticeable changes in gut microbial communities often occur within two to three weeks.

For this reason, many nutritional and functional medicine programs adopt 21 days as a foundational adjustment period, allowing the body enough time to begin establishing new metabolic and microbial balance.

Why Tea as the Core of This Cycle?

Tao’an tea therapy uses rock tea (Yancha) or wild red tea as the base of its formulations.

These teas grow in natural mountain environments and are rich in naturally occurring bioactive compounds, including:

  • Tea polyphenols

  • Flavonoids

  • Amino acids such as L-theanine

  • Trace minerals from mineral-rich soil

Scientific studies suggest that these compounds may help:

  • Support antioxidant activity

  • Contribute to metabolic balance

  • Promote gut microbiome stability

  • Support immune system function

In addition, during natural fermentation and aging, tea develops a unique micro-ecological environment. The metabolites produced through these processes may further interact with the gut microbiota and contribute to internal balance.

From an Eastern wellness perspective, this is understood as using the vitality of nature to gently harmonize the vitality within the body.

When the body receives consistent, mild support from plant-based compounds over time, the internal environment gradually shifts toward greater stability.

Why Consistency for 21 Days Matters

A single cup of tea rarely changes the body’s condition.

But when the practice continues for 21 consecutive days, several processes may begin to stabilize:

  • Metabolic rhythms become more regular

  • Gut microbial balance gradually adjusts

  • The immune system may regain a more stable response threshold

Many people begin to notice subtle changes during this period, such as:

  • A lighter physical feeling

  • Improved digestion

  • More stable sleep

  • Better recovery from fatigue

For this reason, Tao’an uses 21 days as the starting cycle of tea therapy, helping the body establish a healthier internal rhythm.

How to use:

Tao’an Removing dampness Tea

The core of the 21-day program is one daily serving of Tao’an Dampnessless Tea.

The formula is built on selected rock tea (Yancha) as its base, combined with a variety of carefully chosen Eastern botanicals to gently support the body’s metabolic and digestive functions.

Rock tea grows in mineral-rich rocky mountain environments and naturally contains a wide range of beneficial compounds, including polyphenols and trace minerals.

Its warm, stable character helps to:

  • Support metabolic balance

  • Help the digestive system regain its natural rhythm

  • Reduce the sensation of bodily heaviness

Unlike traditional herbal decoctions, tea therapy works through gentle and consistent support.

Rather than creating short-term stimulation, it gradually helps the body return to a more stable internal state.

Tea pack with Jun dates

Step 1: Take a pack of tea

Step 2: Put in the flower tea pot, add 1.5L of water and 5-7 Jun dates.

Step 3: Select flower tea function to boil, when it’s boiling leave it boiling for 3 minutes.

Step 4: Add some honey if you like, drink when it’s hot or warm.

1 pack of tea can boil 2-3 times.

Tao’an Herbal Bath Tea

The second important component of the program is herbal bath therapy three times per week.

Tao’an Bath Tea is also based on core-region rock tea, combined with Tibetan botanicals.

Through warm immersion:

  • Heat helps relax the nervous system

  • Plant bioactive compounds support the skin barrier

  • Natural aroma influences emotional regulation through the olfactory system

Together, these effects create a regulatory process along the neuro-immune-skin axis.

Many people notice after bathing:

  • A lighter physical feeling

  • Deeper sleep

  • Reduced stress and tension

Step 1: Take a pack of tea

Step 2: Put into cold water and start to boil until it reaches 100 °C, then leave it boiling for 5 minutes

Step 3: Pour the boiled tea into the bathtub and add hot water, suggested temperature of 38 °C-42 °C

Step 4: Foot/ body bath suggested within 30-40 mins; for the foot bath, water level must be over Zusanli; for the body bath, water levels should be over the stomach; if water cools down, you may add hot water during the bath.

Why We Recommend Pairing with Medicinal Incense

During the 21-day program, we also recommend using Yaoshi (Medicinal) Incense.

In Eastern wellness traditions, aroma has long been considered an important sensory pathway for regulating the body and mind.

As the fragrance slowly diffuses, olfactory signals travel directly to the limbic system of the brain, helping the nervous system shift from a state of tension toward relaxation.

When used alongside tea therapy and herbal bathing, lighting Yaoshi incense can help the body enter a more stable and harmonious rhythm more quickly.

A Gentle and Sustainable Approach

Tao’an tea therapy does not rely on strong stimulation to force change in the body.

Instead, it works through consistent, gentle support from natural plant compounds, allowing the body to gradually restore its own regulatory capacity.

As the internal environment stabilizes, immune balance, metabolism, and overall vitality can naturally improve.
